WTTW Chicago Pledge Drive

Monday, March 13, 2017

Join Nominee at the studios of WTTW for a night of free food and On-Air Fundraising.

When does WTTW conduct their pledge drives? WTTW hosts its quarterly pledge drives in September, March, June, and December.

What exactly does a pledge volunteer do? During a pledge shift, volunteers will be expected to answer live telephone calls from potential donors and enter their information via laptop. Basic typing skills are required. Caller information includes: name, address, phone number, thank-you gift items, credit card numbers, etc. We provide thorough training on the laptop pledge taking software and how to comfortably answer phones.

What can we expect during a pledge shift? First thing volunteers can expect is to sign in at either the front reception desk or with our volunteer greeter. Every volunteer must sign in. Food is next on the agenda! We provide a full meal or snacks and beverage, in our cafeteria, for every volunteer. We typically allot 30 minutes to eat.

Afterwards, our pledge supervisor will escort volunteers to the studio to begin training. Training typically last around 45 minutes and that’s plenty of time to learn how to take pledges properly and comfortably. Our pledge supervisors will also be available throughout the shift to answer any questions that should arise.

We were very successful at this event.
